Centre for Ageing and Health

Welcome to AgeCap!
We perform coordinated studies of capability in ageing.
Capability refers to the individual’s ability to perform actions in order to reach goals he or she has reason to value.

The number of people above 65 will triple during the next decades. More and more healthy elderly people are a global success, but also a big societal challenge since it means that more retired people need to be supported and that the number of people with dementia will increase.

The research on capability is based on seven projects:

  • Time trends and capability
  • Work/retirement and capability
  • Participation, representation, self determination and capability
  • Cognition and capability
  • Health, frailty and capability
  • Cumulative advantage/disadvantage and capability
